New Zealand Rigging has announced that Cris Brodie has joined the company as a director. Cris has many years experience in the rigging business including working as a rigger in the Volvo Ocean Race, managing large superyacht refits and running an international sparmaking and rigging business.

Cris has extensive offshore racing and cruising experience including the Sydney-Hobart yacht race and delivering superyachts offshore.

New Zealand Rigging was founded by Richard (Bart) Bearda after being the shore based rigger for the Illbruck Sailing Team which won the 2002 Volvo round the world Ocean Race.

Since that time the company has established itself as one of New Zealand’s leading sparmakers with incredible success so far this year, with wins at Hamilton Island race week, Airlie beach race week regatta, San Francisco Big boat series and the USA IRC nationals along with Divisional wins in the Sydney Southport race and Transpac.

They were also chosen to supply the spars and rigging to the recently launched IRC 52 Georgia.
